Since posting my previous blog entry about the game, I have discovered a hefty glitch in Duck Dodgers and the 24th and a Half Century (Duck Dodgers: Starring Daffy Duck) for the Nintendo 64. This glitch allows a player to bypass nearly one-fifth of the entire game by jumping onto a car to get outside of the designated playing area and then triggering a loading zone that would normally require 12 collectible atoms to unlock. The video posted on my YouTube channel showcases how to set up and execute this sequence break. It is not too difficult to pull off, though definitely requires practice to get consistently. Planet J, where the out-of-bounds occurs, is not too hard, so most players have no incentive to skip it. This abuse of gameplay mechanics is more so intended for speedruns of an any% category, where the goal is to get to the end of the game as quickly as possible.
If you find this interesting, be sure to subscribe to my channel where I have been uploading videos fairly consistently. While I do upload miscellaneous content there (ranging from game development to fun prototyping), glitch hunting in Duck Dodgers is one of my main focuses for the channel at the moment. There is a lot to be discovered, and some breakthroughs over the past several days prove that to be true!
